The rules for using Tupatane Grao, in plain words. By starting a team, or using the app, you agree to them.

Who we are

Tupatane Grao is run by Jayson Mulwa, in Kenya. Questions about these terms: jayson.mulwa@gmail.com.

What Grao does

It helps a football team run match day: who’s in, who’s paid, who plays where, results, and plays to watch. It keeps a record of payments, but never handles money.

If you start a team

Whoever starts a team is its owner, and agrees to these terms for it. As the owner, you’re responsible for:

• Who is in your squad, and who you make an admin.
• Your team’s name, and the names in your squad.
• Keeping the owner code to yourself. Share the member code and invite link only with your squad.
• Getting a parent’s or guardian’s permission before adding a player under 18, or their photo.
• Only adding photos of people who are happy to be in the app.
• The fee you set, and the money your team collects.

Money

Players pay the team directly, by M-Pesa or however the team asks. Grao never holds or moves money, so it can’t refund, reverse or chase a payment. Anything about a payment is between the player and the team.

Using it fairly

Please don’t:

• Post abusive, hateful or threatening comments.
• Give a team or a player an abusive, hateful or obscene name.
• Sign in as someone else, or use an admin link that wasn’t sent to you.
• Try to reach another team’s details, guess codes, or disrupt the app.
• Use Grao for anything against the law.

If something breaks these rules, we may remove the comment or photo, or rename the team or player. If it’s serious or keeps happening, we may delete the team. Where we can, we’ll tell the owner why first.

Price

Grao is free while we’re starting out. If that changes, owners will hear well before anything is charged, and can leave without paying anything.

The service

We work to keep Grao running and backed up every day. But it’s offered as it is, and we can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses caused by it being unavailable or wrong.

Leaving

Any player can ask to be removed, as the privacy notice explains. An owner can ask us to delete their whole team: email us and we’ll remove it from the app straight away, and from the backups within about two weeks.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll tell each team’s owner before the change takes effect.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
